About working with Earthwatch

Earthwatch is an independent scientific research and conservation charity which aims to create a society that lives in balance with nature. We believe strongly in the power of connecting people to nature to inspire Environmental action for net positive impact on our environment. We think globally and act locally, tackling the biggest environmental issues including biodiversity loss, climate change and recognition and protection of some of our most important ecosystems.

As an Earthwatch intern you will work with our team to help deliver real citizen science programs and disseminate scientific understanding. You will gain hands on experience, develop skills and understanding in your field, broaden your networks and have real-world exposure to citizen science in action. Being accepted as an Earthwatch Intern means you will commit to our values and our mission to empower people to save the natural world.

We are based in Melbourne, but our internships are open to applicants from across Australia and internationally. With COVID-19 restrictions still in place, you will mainly be working from home and will need to supply your own computer and have internet connectivity. Please note that Earthwatch cannot facilitate visa applications or relocation.
