Dr Sabrina Trocini

Program Coordinator (Biodiversity)

Sabrina is the Program Coordinator for Biodiversity initiatives at EarthWatch including BushBlitz and TeachLive. Sabrina holds a Doctor of Veterinary Science, Masters in Conservation Medicine, and a PhD which investigated the influence of maternal and environmental factors on loggerhead turtle reproductive success.

She has been fortunate to have had the opportunity to participate in a wide range of conservation and monitoring projects around the world, often in very remote locations, and has worked in a variety of sectors (e.g. research, tertiary education, ecological consultancy and not-for-profit). These experiences have strengthened her belief that public education and engagement is the key to effective biodiversity conservation. She believes that citizen science provides a unique opportunity of combining the collection of scientific data with public outreach and long-term conservation.
