In just 50 years, we have lost over half of our wildlife and we have as little as 12 years to slow the climate crisis. Collaboration between governments, policy-makers, businesses, educators, students, and scientists is essential if we are to tackle these complex challenges. This is where Earthwatch comes in.
For half a century, Earthwatch has empowered people to take action in key areas where we can have the most impact. We bring people, science and nature together to create transformational experiences that create long term positive behaviour change towards the environment.
To empower people to save the natural world
Working together to create a society that lives in balance with nature
Central to our approach is the use of citizen science, where people from all walks of life gather critical scientific data to generate environmental insights, inform future policy and motivate long-term behaviour change.
We work with:
We develop interdisciplinary programs which target material issues
We work with local, state and federal governments important environmental research
To deliver scholarship programs, citizen science programs and educational experiences
We collaborate across community groups, social enterprises, NGOs, and other charities
Schools, teachers, and students are supported to become environmental stewards through our bespoke programs
To help them step off the beaten path and discover nature through our expeditions
