Dr Tim O'Hara is a marine biologist at Museums Victoria in Melbourne. His research is on how marine animals are distributed across the seafloor and how they came to be there. This knowledge helps us to sustainably manage the marine environment by providing biodiversity data to assist in the of design marine parks and to avoid conflict between natural values and human activities. He also describes new species and leads scientific voyages to explore unknown areas of the ocean.
