Adaptation is the process which enables organisms to adjust to their environment in order to ensure their survival. It seems when you look closely at animals and plants, they all have adaptations that increase their chance of survival.

Let’s take a closer look at some arthropods we found at Stony Head, Tasmania.

Activity

     1. View the attached images of the invertebrates located in a range of habitats at Stony Head.
    2. For each image, list the adaptations you notice. Think about where each species might be located,                        possible predators and physical as well as behavioural adaptations.
