Volunteering with Earthwatch Australia
At Earthwatch Australia, volunteers play a vital role in driving positive change for our planet. Whether you’re an individual looking to contribute your time, a student eager to gain experience or a business wanting to empower your workforce, volunteering with us is a meaningful way to support scientific research, community engagement and environmental action.
Volunteer opportunities are posted on our website as they become available. When a role or event opens, you can apply online. There are three ways to participate:

Volunteer in the Field
Join us at a research or education event. These events are perfect for contributing a few hours or days to hands‑on environmental action while supporting real scientific outcomes.Â

Volunteer at Head Office
For experience within the not‑for‑profit sector, our head office skilled volunteering roles are a great place to start. Contribute your expertise while learning how an environmental charity operates. This is an excellent option if you’re interested in the sector but don’t meet internship requirements.Â

Corporate Volunteering
For organisations committed to giving back, our Corporate Volunteer Program offers a powerful way to engage staff in meaningful work. Your team can contribute skills, energy and expertise to help advance Earthwatch’s mission while strengthening team connection and purpose.Â
We have a number of field opportunities such as biodiversity and climate data collection. Please contact us directly at
